MADURAI: Corporation officials today sealed two jewellery shops in Madurai city which were opened violating the lockdown rules. Corona lockdown curbs were not yet relaxed by the government for jewellery shops and hence not supposed to open.
The two shops which were locked and sealed on 9th May 2020 are in South Avani Moola Street here. During inspection, officials have found that the two shops were opened even though there is no permission, according to a press release from Madurai Corporation here today.
Based on Corporation Commissioner Mr.S.Visakan’s instructions, the shops were sealed. Assistant Commissioner Mr.P.S.Manian, Assistant Executive Engineer Ms.Indira devi and Assistant Revenue Officer Mr.Saravanan were in the inspection team.
