MADURAI: Hundreds of stage – drama artistes have appealed to the Tamil Nadu government to come to their rescue in this hour of corona crisis because their livelihood was lost due to lockdown.
The appeal was made by Southern Districts Stage Drama Artistes Welfare Association here on 6th May 2020. For nearly 500 families, essential commodities- rice, dhal, vegetables were distributed. Since there are no stage shows or drama shows, the families of stage and drama artistes are in dire straits, said association president Mr.Ranjith.
DMDK Rural South District Secretary Mr.Ganapathi, popular comedy artiste Madurai Muthu and others were present during the distribution of groceries and rice yesterday.
