Bring back stranded Indians, fishermen in Iran: T.N. BJP

CHENNAI: Bharatiya Janata Party Tamil Nadu State president Dr.L.Murugan has today appealed to the Central and State governments to take immediate steps for bringing back the 1,500 stranded fishermen in Iran and those Indians held up in other countries.

He had written a letter on 4th May 2020 to Prime Minister Mr.Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Mr.Edappadi K.Palanisamy urging them to initiate steps for the return of fishermen from India and Tamil Nadu who got held up in Iran and elsewhere due to Coronavirus lockdown.

INDIANS ARE STRUGGLING:

The Tamil Nadu BJP State president, in his letter today, has pointed out the plight of thousands of Indians in several countries who are losing their jobs and livelihood following the Corona pandemic.

“There are reports coming from countries like Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain etc. It is sad to learn that our fellow Indians are suffering and struggling in West Asian countries, some European nations and elsewhere. Several of them are from Tamil Nadu who had gone there for work and employment. Please take steps and help the stranded people to return home from those countries since their visa too is in question mark,” Dr.L.Murugan has appealed in his letter to PM and CM.

On behalf of the Tamil Nadu BJP, he urged the State Government and Chief Minister to make arrangements for the immediate rescue and return of those from Tamil Nadu besides meeting their requirements after coming here.

“The State government must take steps for doing Corona tests and medical help to those returning….. ,” Dr.L.Murugan has said.
