MADURAI: The Madurai Corporation has intensified Corona disinfection works in the city by commencing night time spraying from last night- on 2nd May 2020.
Nearly 60 vehicles are deployed to carry out spraying of disinfectants at night time in various parts of Madurai. This spraying work will cover all the wards except those in Corona containment zones in the city.
Madurai Corporation Commissioner Mr.S.Visakan had inspected the vehicles and spraying machines at ‘Anna Maalaigai’ here before they were pressed into service, a press release from the corporation has said.
The Corporation is taking several preventive and precautionary steps in all the 100 wards in Madurai city to stop the corona infection. Jet sprayers, BHEL-MISTER units, mini jets, boom sprayers and five vehicles from Fire Service Department have been deployed for the spraying work during night time.
Mr.Visakan had inspected Sellur area last night where spraying was done. City Engineer Mr.Arasu, ACHO Dr.Vinodh Raja, PRO Mr.Chithravel and others were among those present when the spraying vehicles were sent to the field to commence spraying of disinfectants.
