MADURAI: With the four-day total lockdown-complete closure ending last night, the Madurai city has seen surging crowds at almost every place from early in the morning today- 30th April 2020.
Their anxiety, panic and tension are understandable since it is about vegetables, groceries and essential items needed for their homes. Locking themselves inside homes for alst four days, the people came out to markets and public places in such a manner that there was traffic and movement on roads like a normal day.
The State government has yesterday announced extended timings upto 5 pm today in order to give more time for the people to buy vegetables, grocery items and essentials. Places such as Bibikulam, Keerathurai, Kamarajar Salai, Nelpettai etc were teeming with crowds and vehicles in Madurai today.
Coronavirus lockdown restrictions and social distancing have faced a stiff challenge from people in Madurai today.
