MADURAI: Entry into Madurai airport for outsiders is completely stopped following a Corona Positive case confirmed in Perungudi area near the airport.
On 29th April 2020, the airport authorities and corporation officials took several more precautionary measures since several people from the Perungudi area come for work inside. A traffic cop residing in Perungudi had tested COVID positive two days ago.
Only the CISF and security personnel are now allowed inside the airport here. Sanitary workers and maintenance workers are put under entry restrictions. Already, strict enforcement of lockdown norms and Section 144 rules are being enforced in and around Madurai airport locality – Perungudi area.
The front side airport road in Madurai is closed and security staff are closely monitoring.
