MADURAI: The Madurai Corporation has today issued a warning that police action will be taken against those who violate the curfew – total lockdown restrictions for the next four days, especially in areas where Corona positive cases were confirmed in the city.
Mr.S.Visakan, Madurai Corporation Commissioner, in a press statement here today – 26th April 2020- has said that the public should not come out of their homes during the lockdown period.
“If there is any urgency, you can contact 84284-25000 which is the help desk number for emergency call. Vegetables, fruits, essential commodities can be bought from mobile vegetable vehicles coming to your area. In areas which are completely sealed and restricted, corporation staff and volunteers are there for assistance,” the Corporation Commissioner has said.
Mr.Visakan has appealed to the city residents to avoid coming out during lockdown period and cooperate with the authorities in preventing the spread of Coronavirus infection and corona positive cases in the city. He also informed that ‘Kabasura Kudineer’ herbal concoction will be provided in urban primary health centres and to the people who are residing in restricted red zone – sealed areas in Madurai.
