MADURAI: Tamil Nadu Minister for Revenue and Disaster Management Mr.R.B.Udayakumar has said today that Coronavirus Rapid Test Kits will be supplied to districts on priority basis depending on the urgency and number of cases there.
“Our State is getting rapid test kits an they will be sent to districts as per the immediate requirement. Our government is taking steps to prevent the spread of Coronavirus infection on a war-footing,” the Minister told reporters here today- 18th April 2020.
Mr.R.B.Udayakumar visited the Corona Control Room at Madurai District Collectorate and the reviewed the relief measures undertaken for affected people during the present lockdown especially the differently-abled persons and their daily essential needs.
“The Control Room for Corona related calls is functioning in an effective manner. More than 2,300 differently abled persons were provided essential items,” he added.
Responding to a question, the Minister said that a decision on what sort of relaxations should be given after 20th April will be decided after a thorough review. “Public should cooperate to bring things under control quickly. Relaxation should not taken easily. All safety measures must be in place,” Mr.Udayakumar has said.
He informed that 17,854 persons are on field work in Corona control activities and an important role is being played by staff of Revenue and Panchayat rural departments.
Police had filed cases on 10,820 persons who violated the lockdown curfew norms by going out on vehicles without valid reason and Rs.60 lakhs was collected as fine in Madurai district. The requirements of ‘Narikuravas’ and differently abled are being closely monitored and their requirements of essential commodities is met.
