MADURAI: The organizational matters of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Tamil Nadu may come under scrutiny after Coronvirus lockdown as complaints and dissent over the violations of party fundamental bylaws in filling up party posts in the State had reached the party bosses at national level.

A prime demand coming from party functionaries in various districts is the immediate removal of Tamil Nadu BJP State General Secretary (Organization) Mr.Keshav Vinayagan, for violations that took place in appointments such as district presidents in some districts by ignoring the party’s constitution, rules and convention.

While some BJP functionaries have openly sent a mail to national leaders including National president Mr.J.P.Nadda and others, there are some who had orally expressed their displeasure to State leadership in Chennai with the manner in which Mr.Keshav Vinayagan went about in completing the election / selection process to party posts in districts in February-March 2020.

A FEW LINES FROM THE COMPLAINT:

The issue was taken to the notice of powerful RSS chief Mr.Mohan Bhagwat also hoping that he will set right the violations /lapses in organizational matters in Tamil Nadu BJP and ensure that ‘party bylaw is the supreme’. The mails / communication was sent on 11th April 2020.

HOW CAN THEY BE DISTRICT PRESIDENTS?

A sample to highlight the disappointment and anger among BJP workers is the letter e-mail shot off by Mr.T.S.Sankara Narayanan from Madurai. “Our party bylaw says that party organizational general secretary in districts look after election process. But in many districts, the same persons became district presidents……How can the same person be crowned as district president?,” he questioned.

Stating that organizational general secretaries will remain as backbone of the party, he pointed out that this is the basic bylaw adopted by party’s founders and great leaders.

“Moreover, in the absence of a State president for Tamil Nadu BJP, Mr.Keshava Vinayagan had hurriedly completed elections or selections in districts in a hurried manner. In many districts, his men are now occupying the post of district president…..district organizational general secretaries becoming district presidents is a total violation,” Mr.T.S.Sankara Narayanan had pointed out.

ELECTION OFFICER BECOMING DISTRICT PRESIDENT?

He urged the national leadership of the BJP to look into this serious violation and take steps for the removal of Mr.Keshav Vinayagan, and replace him with another person from the RSS to be party’s State organizational general secretary in Tamil Nadu as a tribute to those who sacrificed their life for the party’s growth.

‘Lotus Times’ English news website has received several calls from a few BJP functionaries in districts including Madurai City unit (Madurai Urban district) stating that the way in which district office-bearers were chosen is highly questionable and it needs intervention of new State president Mr.L.Murugan and others.
