MADURAI: Nagamalai Pudukottai police today arrested a 34-year-old woman Santhi for selling tobacco products such as cigarettes during the Corona virus lockdown curfew since it is a banned product that should not be sold till the curfew is over.
On 16th April 2020, a police team led by Inspector Mr.Gopinath which was on patrolling rounds in Nagamalai Pudukottai area in Madurai have found that the woman was selling tobacco products in her shop.
She was held- arrested and a case was registered against her. Further enquiry is going on. Police seized tobacco products weighing five kilos, worth Rs.13,000 from her shop.
