MADURAI: Members of Tamil Nadu All Drivers Association have today submitted a representation to Madurai District Collector Dr.T.G.Vinay urging him to consider Corona lockdown relief assistance to drivers by the State government.
Since total lockdown and Section 144 curfew are being enforced allover, plying of vehicles such as taxis, cars, autos etc is not allowed. Drivers have lost their daily earnings since there are total restrictions everywhere.
On behalf of the association, a few members came to the district collectorate and gave a petition seeking help. There are 22,000 members in this association whose livelihood is affected for the past one month. “We request the State government to extend all its welfare schemes and assistance to drivers besides special cash relief to run our families,” the drivers said here today.
