MADURAI: Social Distancing is the most talked about word now in the wake of Corona virus prevention measures.
But the scene at Madurai District Collectorate premises here on 15th April 2020 gave an impression that people are still not bothered about maintaining social distance in public places despite repeated appeals from Prime Minister, Chief Minister, Collector, doctors etc.
A large number of people had thronged the Collector’s office in Madurai today to obtain permit passes to travel. Only those having valid pass are allowed to travel in vehicles- for marriages, emergencies etc.
Madurai District Collector Dr.T.G.Vinay who came to the Collectorate saw the large gathering and he immediately walked towards them to maintain social distance in their own interest. For a few minutes, he ensured that crowd is controlled. Later, police personnel there had regulated the crowd and asked them to come one by one.
