MADURAI GETS SPRAYER VEHICLES, BHEL MACHINES

MADURAI: The Coronavirus sanitising works in Madurai got strengthened with the purchase of new vehicles that will mount high power sprayer DISINFECTION MACHINES from the Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL).

Sprayer machines BHEL- MISTER would be deployed in vehicles that are to be used to carry out intensive spraying. At a cost of Rs.36.80 lakhs from the Madurai East MLA Constituency Development Fund, the purchase was made. Totally eight were ordered of which four vehicles ready to take up spraying works in Madurai East areas.

Madurai Corporation Commissioner Mr.S.Visakan today saw the new ones- vehicles and functioning of these spraying machines in the presence of Madurai East MLA Mr.P.Moorthy, City Engineer Mr.S.Arasu and senior corporation officials.

“For Corona control and prevention measures, disinfectant spraying vehicles were pressed into service across Madurai city. Sprayers and manpower are provided to all areas……Within one week of placing order, the Corporation got things ready……. Sakthiman Rakshak 400 sprayer…..They will be operated through mini-generator,” a press release here on 14th April 2020, said.
The Corporation has also taken steps to acquire battery operated sprayers and hand spraying units. According to the press release, 1,000 kilos of bleaching powder and 2,000 litres of Lyzol were purchased to undertake sanitization works in the city in the wake of Corona virus threat.
