MADURAI: Member of Parliament of Madurai Lok Sabha constituency Mr.Su.Venkatesan had today provided 60,000 facemasks to Madurai Corporation which will be given to Corporation workers- sanitary workers as Coronavirus preventive measure.
The MP handed over the 60,000 face masks, worth Rs.Six lakhs, to Madurai Corporation Commissioner Mr.S.Visakan at ‘Arignar Anna Maligai’ here on 10th April 2020.
Assistant City Health Officer Dr.Vinodh Raja and Ex-Councillor Mr.Vijayan were among those present.
Several preventive steps to check the spread of Corona virus infection are being carried out across Madurai city. Face masks, disinfectant spraying, anti-germ powder, free food to destitute and affected persons are some of the swift steps undertaken by the civic body since the commencement of 21-day lock down in March last week.
