MADURAI: A vigilant Madurai Corporation had sealed and closed down 5 vegetable shops at Mattuthavani vegetable market in Madurai for not following the Coronavirus control norms such as regulating the crowd and following social distancing to prevent the spread of virus.
These vegetable shops were found to be violating the rules at midnight last night and action was taken by the authorities following strict instructions from Madurai Corporation Commissioner Mr.S.Visakan, according to a press release here today-6th April 2020. The shops coming under Zone-2 have been sealed and will remain closed till further orders.
Senior officials of the corporation Mr.Jayaram Raja, Mr.P.S.Mani and Mr.Rajagopal were among those who are monitoring the implementation of lockdown / Section 144 / social distancing rules in areas under their jurisdiction.
