RAMANATHAPURAM: In India’s famous pilgrim town Rameswaram and at other places in Ramanathapuram district of Tamil Nadu, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers have been relentlessly working to help the deserving people affected by total lockdown being implemented to prevent the spread of Coronavirus.
For instance, the initiative undertaken by the BJP Ramanathapuram district unit at Pattanakathan on 2nd April 2020 and at many other places since the lockdown / Section 144 began to support several affected persons and their families with food, accommodation etc is proving to be very helpful.
“In Rameswaram, our party is helping 160 pilgrims with food and accommodation. At Ramnad, our senior leader Mr.Kuppuramu made arrangements to supply food. Not only at Pattanakathan, we are focusing on other places also to help the needy,” Mr.K.Muralidharan, BJP district president, Ramanathapuram district, said on 3rd April 2020.
At Kadaladi, good samaritan Dr.Ramkumar is taking care of sanitizing and spraying of disinfectants while Mr.Ganapathi is distributing rice and dhal in Kamudhi.a
According to Mr.Muralidharan, the BJP’s Ramnad district unit is carrying out a very important activity of providing FOOD KITS to people. Each kit contains rice, wheat, salt, sambar powder, oil, dhal, masala and turmeric.
For 600 persons five kilos of rice, distribution of food kits (each kit Rs.1,000) to families, helping 50 families with food kits in Rameswaram, reaching out to 100 deserving persons by Kodi Samigal at Dhanushkodi with rice, cooking oil etc, the good work of Ms.Lakshmi Devi at Abhiramam and the concern shown by Ms.Gayathri to help the affected people, were some of the highlights of BJP’s good work done in Ramanathapuram district from 25th March to 2nd April 2020.

Among those present during the distribution- social service activity at Pattanakathan in Ramanathapuram district on 2nd April 2020 include BJP district president Mr.K.Muraidharan, State vice-president Mr.D.Kuppuramu, councillor Mr.Murugan, district general secretary Mr.G.Kumar and district office-bearer Mr.Athma Karthik.
