MADURAI: Corporation Commissioner Mr.S.Visakan has today asked people to pay tax dues immediately to the Madurai Corporation failing which authorities will suspend the water and underground drainage connection.
“Tax amount has to be paid in March month. Property tax, water charges, UGD charges are to be remitted quickly. Tax revenues help the Corporation to carry out developmental works. This month, arrangement has been made to enable the people pay their taxes from 8 am to 8 pm including Saturdays and Sundays,” the Commissioner has said in a press release here today- 7th March 2020.
Mr.Visakan has also informed that steps are being taken to collect the tax dues pending from private educational institutions, hospitals and large organizations. So far, 668 buildings were covered and last month alone Rs.29 crores was collected in the form of taxes which were due to the civic body.
