MADURAI: English communication skill and computer knowledge have become prerequisites for our students and girls should pursue higher studies with all confidence.

The skills and individual talents among students must be honed by the college and university faculty because getting a degree alone is not adequate for students these days.

And another message was that if women are educated, the whole family and surrounding society will benefit. Finally, girl students have been advised to learn more languages and also keep in mind that cell phone is a double-edged knife and it should be used properly.

A MESSAGE FROM MKU CAMPUS:

MKU Vice-Chancellor Dr.M.Krishnan, Madurai District Superintendent of Police Mr.N.Manivannan and Mrs.M. Maheswari, Deputy Commissioner (Admin), SGST, Madurai, were among those who motivated the large gathering of girl students saying that education is the best weapon for empowerment.

“Atrocities against women should be stopped……With a larger awareness and laws available, cases of dowry harassment, child exploitation-sexual abuse etc can be prevented. But ultimately only literacy and education, that too girls going for higher education will give best results through women empowerment and confidence,” they said.
The Women’s Studies Centre of Madurai Kamaraj University had today – 4th March 2020 – organized ‘International Women’s Day-2020’ event in the varsity campus.

Dr.R.Radhika Devi, Director, Women’s Studies Centre, welcomed the gathering. Sessions were held with focus on women empowerment and the great role being played by women in today’s society with self confidence and career prospects.
