MADURAI: District Collector Dr.T.G.Vinay and Madurai Corporation Commissioner Mr.S.Visakan today inspected the Kiruthamal Channel where the water flow is getting blocked due to dumping of waste and garbage.
A major grievance of people residing along the Kirthamal channel is that drainage and garbage are stopping the free flow of water in this important water channel in Madurai.
The district collector and corporation commissioner undertook a complete study of what is happening to this water channel from its starting point at Viratipathu and the 9-kilometer passing route – Bypass Road, Ellis Nagar, Asirvatham Colony, Therukuvasal and Chinthamani.
Instructions were given to clear the bushes and waste that is blocking the water flow in Kirtuthumal. Among those who were present for the inspection include Chief Engineer Mr.Arasu, senior corporation officials Mr.Sekar, Mr.Rajendran and others.
