AIIMS Madurai building works soon: Health Secy (video)

MADURAI: Compound wall construction is 75 per cent over for the prestigious All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) coming up in Madurai (Thoppur) and building works inside the campus will start soon, Tamil Nadu Health Secretary Beela Rajesh said here today- 29th February 2020.

The Central government is setting up AIIMS in Madurai and works have been initiated after Prime Minister Mr.Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for this important healthcare facility.

“Three important meetings with Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) were conducted and funding support is there……The AIIMS building works will commence soon and construction will be completed within a time frame since the Central and State governments are constantly monitoring the project work,” Ms.Beela Rajesh told reporters at Madurai airport here today evening.

She was in Madurai today in connection with the visit of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Mr.Edapadi K Palanisamy who is going to lay the foundation stone for medical colleges in Ramanathapuram and Virudhunagar tomorrow.
