MADURAI: Customs officials have seized 932 grams of gold worth Rs.39.85 lakhs from a woman passenger who arrived at Madurai airport from Singapore by Air India Express flight.
She was taken into custody for questioning on 22nd February 2020 upon her arrival here after the Customs’ air intelligence team found that the woman was carrying the gold illegally. The details of the enquiry were revealed by the officials on 28th February after six days of thorough investigation.
The woman belongs to Ramanathapuram.
