MADURAI: A detailed explanation was given by the Madurai Lok Sabha constituency MP Mr.S.Venkatesan by assuring that the Madurai airport expansion works and Madurai AIIMS works are being given full attention and taken up with the concerned authorities of Central government.
“For land acquisition to expand the Madurai airport works, already Rs.54 crores was given as compensation to the land owners. what we need now is political pressure from all political parties in Tamil Nadu and MPs from southern districts of our State to improve our Madurai airport starting from night service flights and the runway works to be undertaken for that,” Mr.Su.Venkatesan said speaking to reporters here on February 26th 2020.
AIR INDIA ON ALL DAYS:
The Madurai MP, who represents the CPM, has given some good news saying that Madurai-Delhi Air India flight service will be operated daily for the convenience of passengers from southern districts.
Stating that the works for setting up the AIIMS hospital and admissions for students should be speeded up, the Madurai MP Mr.S.Venkatesan had demanded that a permanent office to monitor the AIIMS works should be set up in Madurai soon.
He also urged the governments in Tamil Nadu and at the Centre to take steps for early completion of Kappalur Tollgate-Tirumangalam four-lane works and that this important route should not be neglected.
DMK MLA Dr.P.Saravanan had commented that that functioning of present government in the State is looking like a comedy and not effectively functioning for the welfare of people.
