MADURAI: Following of traffic rules is mandatory for every road user. It is for everyone’s safety and to prevent accidents. But, it has become a challenge for traffic police to make people follow driving rules and traffic discipline.
However, at a traffic signal in Madurai city, the message of traffic rules and road safety is being effectively conveyed to people and commuters. There is a very good positive effect.
AT ‘AAVIN SIGNAL’:
At the ‘very busy ‘Aavin’ signal near Anna Bus stand in Madurai city, a traffic police inspector Mr.Palanisamy of Madhichiyam police station has been relentlessly talking and guiding the people through his mike about the need to control speed and follow the road rules and traffic regulations.
“You have a family, you have children, good future….. So, go slow by following the rules. Don’t jump the traffic signal…..Obey the rules and it is for your own safety.” the traffic inspector keeps on saying advising the road users and hence a good signal is going to the people from this traffic signal in Madurai city. And, this work goes on for eight hours daily especially during the peak traffic time. Kudos to the traffic police initiative by Madurai police team.
