MADURAI: People of 56 villages near Melur in Madurai district have grandly celebrated their traditional ‘parivettai’ festival today – 23rd February 2020.
In this village, the ancient tradition and culture are being maintained and one of the main highlights is ‘Paarivettai Thiruvizha’. The village gods and dieties were decorated and special prayers were held since early morning today by the villagers and youth who turned up large numbers.
Vellalore wore a festive look because from this famous village the people take a route to Madhagupatti-Manmalai in Sivaganga district. There they take a holu dip and complete their hunt. After that they proceed to Ambalakaranpatti temple and perform puja before returning home.
