SIVAKASI: Members of various college employees associations have staged a demonstration in Sivakasi on February18th urging the Tamil Nadu Government and Directorate of Collegiate Education to take immediate action against the former Regional Joint Director (Tiruchi Region) Dr.S.Usha who has now on medical leave.
The Association of Non-Teaching Staff of Aided Colleges held a protest before Government Arts and Science College in Sivakasi. Various other associations including Tamil Nadu Collegiate Education Department Employees Welfare Association and Tamil Nadu Government Employees Association are also demanding departmental action against Dr.Usha.
Complaints were made to top officials of Directorate of Collegiate Education that Dr.Usha has been using abusive and derogatory language against employees following which she was asked to go on leave.
Speaking at the protest in Sivakasi on 18th February, Mr.K.Sherif, State EC Member of The Association of Non-Teaching Staff of Aided Colleges, has said that going on leave is not the solution and their prime demand is that action must be initiated against Dr.Usha by the department.
Among those who took part in the protest include Bursar Jayanthi and others.
