MADURAI: Condemning police lathicharge against Muslim women in Chennai yesterday, nearly 800 people resorted to road blockade at Villapuram in Madurai last night – on 14th February 2020 night.
In Chennai’s Vannarpet Old Washermenpet area, Muslims came out opposing the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) yesterday. Tension prevailed there and police resorted to lathicharge.
So, a large number of Muslims and others in Madurai staged a protest criticising the police action. Traffic was disrupted for nearly 30 minutes on Madurai airport road-Villapuram here last night.
