MADURAI: As per the directives of Mr. V.R. Lenin, Divisional Railway Manager and under the direct supervision of Mr. V. Prasanna, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Mr. M. Bharath Kumar, Divisional Commercial Manager and Mr. G. Niraimathi E. Pillaikani, Assistant Commercial Manager, a special ticket checking drive was conducted during the month of January 2020.
An amount to the tune of Rs.75.97 lakhs was collected as fine which is more than 90% compared to last year in the same period. A total of 13,186 cases have been booked which is 65% more than the corresponding period, according to a press release from Southern Railway Madurai Division here today.
During this fiscal, an amount of Rs.5.63 crore was collected upto January 2020 which is 49% more than last year and 89,917 cases booked upto January 2020 which is 43.10% more than last year.
