MADURAI: The Directorate of Tourism of Government of Maharashtra has pitched a strong tourism promotion drive to attract tourists from Tamil Nadu in large numbers.

As a part of that strategy, a roadshow was held in Madurai on 8th February 2020 to showcase the tourist destinations in Maharashtra from beaches to historic forts to world heritage sites besides famous religious places in that State.

While Maharashtra Tourism Minister Mr.Aditya Thackeray addressed the audience through a recorded video clip, the State’s Director of Tourism Mr.Dilip Gawade came to Madurai to steer this roadshow.

“Tourism connects people of two States. Maharashtra has natural beaches, historic forts, waterfalls, wildlife sanctuaries and world heritage sites like Ajanta, Ellora, Western Ghats etc. Our State also has important religious places such as five Jyotirlingas, Shirdi, Ashtavunayak temple, Pandharpur etc.,” Mr.Aditya Thackeray has said in his message.

Mr.Dilip Gawade has said that Maharashtra offers everything to tourists with its beautiful Sahayadri Ranges of the Western Ghats and Konkan Coast. “Love for seafood and films are common. We welcome tourists from Tamil Nadu to visit Maharashtra and enjoy our State’s tourist destinations,” he added while talking to media about the objectives of roadshow.
