MADURAI: The Indian Oil Corporation has urged its ‘Indane’ gas customers to make digital payments for LPG refill cylinders. On booking the cylinder through IVRS, the customer would be sent SMS on his or her mobile number with the link for paying online which will be open for a day.
By clicking the online address, customers can pay the amount through multiple online payment options available such as net banking, credit or debit cards etc. With this mode, customers need not pay anything at the time of delivery of cylinder, according to a Mr.R.Chidambaram, General Manager (corporate communications), here yesterday.
If customers do not use this option, they can insist on making digital payment at the time of delivery of cylinder through mPOS machine carried by delivery staff. Cash should be the least preferable option for payments, the press release said.
It also pointed out that Indian Oil does not advocate payment of tips for delivery of LPG refills. For more information, ‘Indane’ gas customers can contact customer service cell numbers on working days.
