MADURAI: The Teachers Eligibility Test (TET) qualification has become a threat to 1,500 teachers of non-minority Government aided schools in Tamil Nadu with the G.O.issued for refresher training during May 2020 annual exam holidays.
A representation was submitted to Ms.Sigi Thomas Vaidhyan, Commissioner of School Education, Government of Tamil Nadu, making a plea urging for exemption of 1,500 teachers of non-minority government aided schools from attending refresher training in May 2020. Appeal was also made to the Tamil Nadu School Education Minister.
APPEAL TO STATE GOVT:
The reason was that the teachers of government aided minority schools in 2013 and teachers of government schools in 2017 were exempted from TET requirement, according to a press release here today.
Mr.A.Chandran of Coimbatore, Mr.S.Bhoopathi of Tiruchi and Mr.K.Sivagnanam of Madurai have made an appeal to the School Education Minister, School Education Department and authorities to consider their request of exempting the 1,500 teachers from TET qualification and TET requirement since the teachers in non-minority government aided schools also were instrumental in increasing the pass percentage of students with their dedicated teaching.
