MADURAI: The Government Rajaji Hospital (GRH) in Madurai has asked for 200 more additional masks from the Health Department as part of its coronavirus alert precautionary measures.
Having already opened a separate eight-bed isolation ward to treat suspected patients if any, the GRH authorities are completely prepared to deal with any situation with regard to coronavirus.
GRH Dean Dr.J.Sangumani told ‘Lotustimes’ news website today that the additional masks were asked as protective gear for the requirement of doctors and staff who should be protected from infection.
“There is nothing to panic right now. We are ready with preventive and protective steps. There is not even a suspect case in our area. The additional masks were asked only as a precautionary step. These masks are three-layered and very effective. Our hospital was asked to inform about the requirement and so we asked for more masks,” the Dean added.
