BJP will take bike to drive CAA message in Tamil Nadu

MADURAI: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will undertake a public awareness journey from Kanyakumari to Chennai from 20th to 29th January 2020 to explain about the importance of Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) for India’s security and safety. It will be an educative mission by the party covering various districts in the State by road through bike journey.

A meeting was held at the party headquarters ‘Kamalalayam’ in Chennai yesterday to lay out a plan for this awareness journey. Mr.Kesava Vinayagam, Tamil Nadu BJP State general secretary (organization), Mr.Pon V Balaganapathy, BJP State Secretary and Yuva Morcha in-charge for Tamil Nadu and office-bearers of various wings of the party besides State youth wing functionaries were present at this meeting.

FOR INDIA’S SECURITY AND SAFETY:

When contacted, Mr.Balaganapathy told ‘Lotustimes’ news website over phone today (18th January) that CAA and NRC are important for India’s security and safety. 
“Opposition parties like the DMK are creating a fear psychosis among Muslims that CAA is against Muslims……It is completely baseless and false. We will create awareness among Muslims and clear apprehensions among the minorities….We will dispel doubts through our approximately 1,600 km journey by road. Our party functionaries will talk to people on ground going by road on bikes,” Mr.Balaganapathy has said.

BJP TEAM TO COORDINATE:

For CAA awareness journey, a team of BJP functionaries in Tamil Nadu will coordinate at districts’ level from Kanyakumari to Chennai for this road journey which starts at Kanyakumari on 20th January 2020 morning.

Those who will oversee the CAA awareness mission include Mr.C.M.Mari Chakkaravarthy, Mr.Chitti Babu, Mr.Vasantharajan, Mr.M.Venkatesan (State president of SC Morcha) and Mr.M.Jaishankar (Vibag Saha In-charge).
“Many others including advocate Mr.Ramamurthy (ABVP), Mrs.Rajalakshmi and SriKarunya will be with us. Our women’s wing, SC/ST functionaries, youth wing etc will take part to counter the wrong information being spread by DMK and others in Tamil Nadu,” said Mr.Pon.Balaganapathy.
