MADURAI: For Pongal 2020, sugarcane farmers are busy in their fields in Madurai district. Taking the harvest, they are sending the cane to marketplace and for tomorrow’s Pongal festival the demand is soaring since sugarcane is an important part of this harvest festival.
Sugarcane was chosen by many farmers and it has given good yield in Kottampatti and surrounding areas in Madurai district. However, according to reports, there is still shortage of supply.
