MADURAI: Health Department officials in Madurai district are geared up for the Pulse Polio Immunisation on 19th January 2020 to administer polio drops to children below five years of age.
Dr.Priya Raj, Deputy Director of Health Services, Madurai district, told ‘Lotustimes’ news website here today that polio vaccine will be administered to an estimated number of 2.85 lakh children upto five years of age.
“There will be 1,700 immunisation booths in Madurai district and about 7,500 personnel will be involved in this exercise…..Also, there will be 110 transit booths to administer the polio vaccine to people on transit and in public places. Our department will also ensure door-to-door verification to ensure that every child had got polio drops,” Dr.Priya Raj has said.
