MADURAI: The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Dayananda Sagar University in Bangalore and AIMST University, Bedong in Malaysia, has started to show academic learning dividends for students and enhanced research prospects for the faculty.
Thanks to this initiative, about 90 students and four faculty members from School of Basic and Applied Sciences and School of Pharmacy of Dayananda Sagar University (DSU) Bangalore are now in AIMST University in Malaysia for 10 days from 7th January to 17th January 2020.
INTERNATIONAL IMMERSION:
Prof.K.Muthuchelian, Pro-Vice Chancellor of DSU in Bengaluru, had signed an MoU with AIMST University at Bedong in Malaysia on 26th September 2019 with a pursuit of attaining further global excellence through International Global Immersion Programme.
This five-year MoU facilitates study pathways, curriculum mapping, credit transfer. twinning programs, student exchange, internship, academic staff mobility, guest lectures, joint workshops etc.
Faculty team from DSU comprises Dr.V.Murugan, Dean of Pharmacy, Dr.Sunil S More, Dean of of Basic and Applied Sciences, Mrs.Seema Rathor and Dr.Aneesa Fasim.
“The students of Dayananda Sagar University will undergo intensive training in clinical pharmacy, community pharmacy, diabetes management, pulmonology care etc. They will visit pharma industries in Malaysia while the bioscience students will be given greater international exposure to practical biotech, genetic engineering, molecular biotech, RNomics etc, ” according to a press release received here today.
Dr.Harcharan Singh Sidhu, Vice-Chancellor and Chief Executive, Prof.Ravichandran, Prof.Marimuthu,Prof.Dr.Mohd Baidi Bahari, Dr.Christapher Parayil Varghese and Dr.Megar Nazahar of AIMST University have facilitated for the collaboration between these two institutions of higher learning, the press release added.
