MADURAI: The new State president of Tamil Nadu BJP will be announced before 10th January 2020 and the party’s national leadership wants to complete this process in next five or six days, reliable sources told ‘Lotus Times’ news website today.
Central observers of the BJP will hold a special meeting in Chennai on 5th January to gather opinions from State office-bearers and important leaders of the party about their choice for the new chief of Tamil Nadu unit. After Dr.Tamilisai Soundararajan take over as Telangana Governor, the State president post of Tamil Nadu BJP has been lying vacant.
FRONT RUNNERS:
For the last three months, several names have been doing the rounds and there is wide spread speculation in party circles in Tamil Nadu. The front runners include Mr.Pon.Radhakrishnan, Mr.H.Raja, Prof.Dr.R.Srinivasan, Mr.Nainar Nagendran, Vanathi Srinivasan and Mr.Karuppu Muruganandham.
According to party sources in Chennai, the BJP national leadership is toying with the idea of appointing a fresh face to the top post instead of giving a chance to those who already held important positions in the party in Tamil Nadu.
“Immediately after taking views of party leaders, the central observers will submit a report to the national president and the new State president of Tamil Nadu will be announced before 10th January,” a ‘Kamalalayam’ source has said and before ‘Pongal’ the line will be clear.
