MADURAI: Dr.K.Muthuchelian, Pro-Vice Chancellor of Dayanand Sagar University, was presented the ‘Hindustan Gagan Gaurav Award 2019’ at a function held in Bengaluru on 27th December 2019.
The award was conferred on him in recognition of his contributions in the field of environment, administration, education and social work. Justice M.N.Venkatachalaiah, former Chief Justice of India,chaired the event which was held at Gandhi Bhavan in Kumara Park East in Bengaluru today.
SEVERAL INVITEES:
The awards function was organized by Hindustan Gagan Gaurav Jyothirling Foundation in collaboration with World Health Heart Diabetic Cancer and AIDS Foundation and Sree Shirdi Saibaba Janahith Trust where Hindustan Gagan Gaurav and Bala Sree Ratna Awards 2019 were presented to achievers from different fields.
Mr.V. Somanna, Minister for Housing and Horticulture, Government of India, Holiness Sri Madhusudhanananda Puri, peetadhipathi of Omkara Ashrama Mahasamsthana in Bengaluru and Sri Saidutta Dr.Raghunath Guruji of Temple of Success and Bangalore Mayor Mr.M.Goutham Kumar, were among those invited for this important function. Dr.Chinnaswamy Jagannath, Chairman, Reception Committee and a a large number of invitees, were present.
MUTHUCHELIAN FROM MADURAI:
The award recipient Dr.K.Muthuchelian hails from Madurai and had done decades of distinguished service in the School of Energy, Environment and Natural Resources at Madurai Kamaraj University (MKU). He was also Vice-Chancellor of Periyar University in Salem.
