MADURAI: Just a few days before harvest festival Pongal, an enthralling event is being organized at Kilavaneri village near Thirumangalam in Madurai district on 8th January 2020 to give the taste of Tamil culture from a natural rural environs.
This initiative of conducing Tamilar festival was taken by ‘Win Wings of Fire Social Trust’ which has invited guests from various countries including Kenya, Egypt, Sri Lanka, Malaysia and Singapore. And from India, people are coming from different States to take part in the pre-Pongal ‘Tamizhar Thirunaal’ celebrations near Thirumangalam on 8th January.
FOLK DANCE AND FARMERS:
Mr.M.Senthur Pandian, founder-president of Win Wings of Fire Social Trust, has said on Monday that arrangements are being made to hold a grand ‘Mupperum Vizha’ at Kilavaneri village which is about five kilometers away from Thirumangalam.
“Our guests from India and abroad can enjoy typical Tamil folk dances and music on that day. Tasty ‘Pongal’ will be prepared in public by villagers amidst dance and cheers. Farmers will be main attraction since Pongal is their festival of harvest,” he said. The support of Dr.A.P.J.Abdul Kalam International Foundation, Lead India USA Foundation and others is helping the organizers to make good preparation for ‘Tamilar Festival’ where awards will also be presented.
VILLAGE HAS BEEN ADOPTED:
According to Mr.Sethur Pandian, the Trust has very recently adopted Kilavaneri village as a part of Abdul Kalam Vision 2020 Rural Area Development Project and with contributions of donors, more public amenities/service activities etc will be provided there.
Lot of programs are being held through the Win Wings of Fire Social Trust, Madurai, by an active team including its founder Mr.M. Senthur Pandian, Secretary Mr.V.Sudarson. Vice-President Mr.Selva Murugan and others.
