TIRUPATI: A dejected tomato farmer from Andhra Pradesh today posed a straight question to all State governments and people on what will happen if farmers form their union for protecting their interests and get their demands fulfilled.

“Every government department has employees union whereas farmers do not have their unions. We borrow money for our crops but no returns for us or even the minimum support price. Everywhere market middlemen are making money while farmers face distress. What are governments doing,”? the farmer asked.

PAWAN KALYAN VISITS TOMATO MARKET:

Jana Sena Party president and popular Andhra Pradesh political leader Mr.Pawan Kalyan had interacted with tomato farmers and growers at Madanapalle in Chittoor district to know their hardships.

“Tomato is a perishable item….We don’t get the right price and many times we destroy our own crop on streets…..Farmers who had agriculture land are becoming farm workers…..It is a question of our livelihood and survival,” many farmers told Mr.Pawan Kalyan and shared their agony.

CHALLENGE TO JAGAN REDDY:

Addressing a large gathering of tomato farmers, the Jana Sena Party chief lashed out at Chief Minister Jagan Reddy for neglecting the farmers.
“Jagan is more interested in demolishing of buildings and blaming the previous government….People gave a huge mandate to YSR Congress Party but what is the use? So, Mr,Jagan and his party MLAs should address farmers first and just not giving big talk. Our party will take up the issue in Assembly,” Mr.Pawan Kalyan has assured.

Jana Sena Party senior leader Mr.Nadendla Manohar and many party functionaries were present at the tomato farmers interaction meeting today.
