‘Annadhanam’ project for Adi Dravidar school students (video)

FOOD FOR THOUGHT: Rotary Club of Chennai Coastal to Adi Dravidar students.

CHENNAI: A project that touches heart and feeds the belly was launched for the students of Adi Dravidar Welfare Higher Secondary School situated at Vyasarpadi in Chennai recently.

Thanks to a very noble initiative by the Rotary Club of Chennai Coastal, this ‘Annadhanam’ project being implemented in association with a non-governmental organisation called RIVER (The Power of Women) will provide food to 585 boys and girl students from 9th std to 12th std during their extra classes till March 2020, according to a press release.

Ms.Madhu Saran is the founder and managing trustee of RIVER which is engaged in supporting women empowerment initiatives and hence a destitute women group will prepare and supply food to school students of Adi Dravidar Welfare School in Vyasarpadi in Chennai.

The total project cost of this ‘Annadhanam’ project is Rs.14 lakhs, the press release added. Rotary District Governor Mr.Chandramohan inaugurated this project in the presence of assistant governor Dakshayani.

Among those present on the occasion were Madhu Saran and Rotary Club president Mr.Rajesh Khetan along with community development director Mr.Manjit Singh. The young members of Interact Club served food with smile to the students along with Rotary Club members.
