CHENNAI: The rape and murder of a woman veterinary doctor on the outskirts of Hyderabad city two days ago has sent shock waves across India even as people are still to come out from the trauma of tragic Nirbhaya incident in our national capital.
While the police have collected initial clues and produced suspect killers before the media on 29th November 2019, Hyderabad-based CVR News Channel Group has started a special drive for the sake of women’s safety, how young girls and women can fight this rape terrorism, contact police’s SHE Groups and the role of onlookers-neighbours-public to help a woman who is crying for help.
Mr.M.Nagaraju, Input Editor of CVR Group television news channels in Hyderabad, spoke to ‘Lotustimes’ news website over phone on November 29th 2019 and shared his agony about this tragic rape incident, the setting ablaze of about 25-year-old woman doctor after committing rape by the culprits and the way in which CVR Channels are now creating confidence among women through a special drive.
“What had happened to that woman is very shocking….Four youths are suspected to be involved in this and Hyderabad police are investigating….The preliminary evidence suggest that these accused have done a recce of the woman’s movements and followed her before committing the ghastly rape and murder,” Mr.M.Nagaraju has said.
PUBLIC AWARENESS AND PEOPLE’S DUTY:
The CVR Channel is sending out a message to the common people to help women in crisis situations and through a special drive it is creating public-social awareness.
“All of us have to be sensitive to help and protect women…Through CVR Channels, we appeal that schools, colleges, public and parents have to teach our children social and moral values from young age,” journalist Mr.Nagaraju has added.
Meanwhile, the Hyderabad police and its investigating teams are going in full throttle to establish evidence and punish the guilty. Various women’s organisations, doctors’ associations and general public are demanding that very stringent punishment must be given to the accused immediately and some have urged that the rapists should be hanged.
