CHENNAI: ‘Vaikom Ashtami’, one of the most popular temple festivals in Kerala, was celebrated at Vaikom Sree Mahadeva Temple near Kottayam with grandeur and religious fervour on November 20th 2019.

This temple is an important pilgrim centre situated in Kottayam district in Kerala and Lord Vaikkathappan is worshipped there.
“Like the ‘Aarupadai veedu’ Lord Murugan temples in Tamil Nadu, there are several Mahadeva temples in Kerala. And, the ancient temple at Vaikom near Kottayam is a famous temple thronged by devotees from all over India and abroad,” Mr.M.Ramasamy, a devotee from Thiruvananthapuram, told ‘Lotustimes’ news website today.
November 20th was ‘ashtami’ day in Kerala as per ‘panchangam’ and lots of spiritual devotional activities were done across the State and ‘annadhanam’ was done in a great way, he added.
