Mutton shop sealed by Parthasarathy Temple officials

CHENNAI: A shop belonging to Sri Parthasarathy Temple at Triplicane in Chennai was sealed by temple authorities on November 13th 2019 after it was found that mutton and other non-vegetarian items were being sold there by a Muslim running a hotel there.

Thanks to a complaint lodged by Hindu Munnani functionaries here with the temple management two days ago, Parthasarathy Temple assistant commissioner Ms.Jyothilakshmi inspected the shop and immediately ordered for closure of A.K.H.Hotel situated at Saidoji Street in Triplicane that indulged in selling non-vegetarian food items in the name of ‘Malaysia Parotta.’

HINDU MUNNANI’S COMPLAINT:

Mr..A.T.Elangovan, Chennai city president of Hindu Munnani, told ‘Lotustimes’ news website today that many violations had come to light during the enquiry conducted by temple officials in this particular shop yesterday.
“A person belonging to PMK party was allotted this shop sometime aback and he had rented it out to a Muslim who started a small eatery there. Apart from selling mutton and non-veg food, it was also found that monthly rent was not paid to the temple for several months. Our Hindu Munnani cadres got the information and we took up this issue with temple officials and they quickly took action. Hindu Munnani thanks the authorities of Parathasarathy Temple,” Mr.Elangovan has said.   

The temple enquiry team also found that construction work was carried out in the shop without the permission of temple management.  

Local people have told the authorities during inspection that the hotel was selling non-vegetarian dishes and based on Hindu Munnani complaint a notice was issued, rent agreement was cancelled and the shop was sealed yesterday.
