MADURAI: Students of seven schools in Madurai were provided with a good direct experience on Children’s Day today November 14th 2019 about what they see everyday in their home and when their mother is cooking in kitchen, the ‘Indane’ gas cylinder.
Yes. They got the opportunity to go around the LPG Bottling Plant at Mattaparai near Madurai (comes in Dindigul district in Tamil Nadu) which is located in an area of 3.7 acres. This plant is being expanded from its present storage capacity of 900 Metric Tons to 1,800 MT to meet the increasing LPG cylinder demand.
This plant at Mattaparai comes under the IOC Madurai Division and it supplies LPG cylinders to customers through a network of 115 ‘Indane’ gas distributors across Madurai, Dindigul, Virudhunagar, Thoothukudi, Tirunelveli and Kanyakumari districts.
Mr.K.S.Shankar, DGM (LPG), Tamil Nadu, Mr.D.Murali, DGM, Madurai LPG Bottling Plant, Mr.A.Rajaram, Chief Divisional Manager. IOC Madurai Divisional Office, Mr.R.Chidambaram, General Manager Corporate Communications, Southern Region and Mr.M.Thyagarajan, Manager-LPG, Madurai AO, were among those who briefed today about the facilities available in Mattaparai LPG Bottling Plant.
IndianOil has 1.6 crore LPG domestic customers for ‘Indane’ gas cylinders and supplies are made through a network of 900 distributors.
SCHOOL STUDENTS:
The schools in Madurai from where students were taken to the Mattaparai LPG plant include TVS School in Palanganatham, Lakshmi School in Karuppaurani, Mahatma Schools in K.K.Nagar, Kendriya Vidyalaya in Narimedu, Sourashtra Girls School in Anuppanadi, Sri Aurobindo Mira Matriculation School and Velli Veethiyar Corporation School.
Students, teachers and mediapersons were taken to the LPG plant today and IOC top officials have explained about the safety measures, storage bays. transportation facilities etc that are in place at the Mattaparai plant near Madurai.
