TIRUVANNAMALAI: An important meeting will be held at Tiruvannamalai district Collectorate here tomorrow, November 14th 2019, to review the preparations being made for the much awaited ‘Maha Deepam’ that takes place on December 10th evening atop the 2,668 feet Tiruvannamalai Hill.
Tamil Nadu Minister for Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments (HR&CE) Mr.Sevvoor S.Ramachandran will hold the review meeting in which District Collector Kandasamy and officials from various State government departments will take part.
20 LAKH DEVOTEES EXPECTED:
Sources told ‘Lotus Times’ news website today that 20 lakh devotees had witnessed the famous ‘Maha Deepam’ (of Karthigai deepam celebrations) at Tiruvannamalai last year and it is expected that more number of devotees will turn up this year compared to last year.
“Lighting arrangements for temple gopuram, preparations for ‘Giri Valam’, sanitation facilities, public toilets, darshan routes etc are being monitored by Tiruvannamalai district administration, police department and the temple authorities on a daily basis. The ‘Maha Deepam’ in Arunachaleswarar Swamy Temple here is an important devotional event that goes with the chants of ‘Arunachaleswara Haro Hara….,” temple sources said today.
