MADURAI: Development thinker and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) State Secretary Prof.Dr.R.Srinivasan’s dream of having a think-tank forum for development of southern districts of Tamil Nadu took shape in the form of ‘Pandia Boomi Foundation’ here on November 10th 2019.
A spacious office for this Foundation was formally opened today at Athikulam (opposite Devi Hospital) performing puja and invoking blessings of the Almighty. “Pandia Boomi Foundation will be a bridge between people and the Government…..We will rope in experts from various fields for discussions on developmental issues and provide policy inputs to policy-makers,” Prof.Srinivasan told ‘Lotus Times’ in Madurai.

The Pandia Boomi Foundation will operate from Madurai and its focus will be on development of southern districts. To start with, it has chosen five issues -1.Education 2. Trade and industry bodies. 3. Caste / communities 4.agriculture and farmers’ issues.5. Women self-help groups.
“For a long time, south Tamil Nadu did not get adequate attention….Somehow it was ignored. Lack of developmental initiatives led to migration, unemployment, lack of infrastructure etc Through ‘Pandia Boomi Foundation, we will gather ideas from experts and contribute out bit to ignite the process of development in this region,” Prof.Dr.Srinivasan has said.
