MADURAI: Andhra Pradesh BJP State Secretary and former Board member of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Mr.G.Bhanu Prakash Reddy has warned of a massive agitation to protect the money, donations, funds, properties and sanctity of Tirumala temple if TTD money is misused or diverted for any other purpose other than Hindu ‘dharma’ activities and devotees’ amenities.
“The TTD Act clearly says that funds should be used only for dharmik programs. Our party will launch protests and our cadres will swing into action to save Tirumala and protect the sentiments of devotees of Lord Venkateswara,” the BJP leader who filed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) in the High Court on this issue, told ‘Lotus Times’ website over phone on November 8th 2019.
CAN YOU TOUCH CHURCHES AND WAKF BOARD?
Mr.Bhanu Prakash Reddy had cautioned that TTD will become bankrupt if its funds are spent for everything and everywhere. He also demanded that more than 1,500 Non-Hindu employees of TTD should be removed and sent / relocated to other places immediately because Tirumala Tirupati temple is a very major destination for Hindus in India and abroad.
“It is shocking to see a G.O. (Government Order) saying that 67 per cent of project cost for ‘Garuda Varadhi’ construction will be borne through TTD funds. The total project cost of ‘Garuda Varathi’ is Rs.624 crores and it is sad that large part of that is going from TTD money. It is totally unacceptable,” he observed.
Stating that the donations received from devotees are meant to be utilized for very good service and charitable activities such as ‘annadhanam’, the BJP leader hailing from Tirupati had questioned whether the State Government has any guts to touch the properties or funds belonging to Churches and Wakf Board.
“I will continue my work to save Tirumala with the support of our great BJP cadres and leaders from Tirupati to ensure that TTD funds are not misused…..A few years ago, when they tried to use Tirumala money for railway station etc..I objected and that had set the trend to use money properly for devotees, temple infrastructure etc,” Mr.Bhanu Prakash Reddy added.
BJP CADRES WILL GIVE A REPLY:
The BJP leader who is based in Tirupati has asserted that the Andhra Pradesh BJP cadres will not remain silent if the party functionaries are attacked and assaulted by the ruling party YSR Congress Party – YCP – of Chief Minister Mr. Jaganmohan Reddy.
“Our BJP workers are not afraid of jail or bail…..We have service oriented cadres who are working for people’s issues in AP. If they are attacked through violence and personal targets, the BJP in AP can give a befitting reply politically,” Mr.G.Bhanu Prakash Reddy, has warned today while speaking to ‘Lotus Times’ website.
