CHENNAI: The release of ‘Sangathamizhan’ Tamil film featuring popular Tamil cinema hero Vijay Sethupathi is facing heat from small traders and shopkeepers who are voicing objections to his ‘Mandee’ online commodity products commercial advertisement.
“Mr.Vijay Sethupathi’s next film ‘Sangathamizhan’ will be hitting the screens next week. The date announced for his movie release is in a few days only….maybe on 11th or November 15th…..We will block and stop the release of this film if our demand that he should come out of ‘Mandee’ advertisement is not met,” Mr.Arunachala Moorthy, Chennai mandal president of ‘Tamil Nadu Anaithu Vanigar Sangagalin Peramaippu’ told ‘Lotus Times’ news website on November 5th 2019.

Members of the traders’ federations and small retailers/ shopkeepers/ petty shops / vendors took part in a demonstration-cum-gherao led by State president Mr.Kolathur Ravi, at actor Vijay Sethupathi’s office in Alwar Thirunagar in Chennai today morning.
The protesting traders were not allowed by the police and were arrested/detained by Chennai police and taken to a marriage hall in Valasaravakkam in the city where they were kept till evening.
Official teaser of Vijay Sethupathi’s film ‘Sangathamizhan’ was already released and now the small traders and traders associations have threatened to block the film’s release if he is not withdrawing from ‘Mandee’ commercial advertisement immediately.
