MADURAI: Small traders, retailers and vendors have expressed disappointment with popular film actor Vijay Sethupathi since he is not responding to their request that the actor should withdraw from ‘Mandee’ (online food commodity market) advertisement.
Stepping up their protest, the federation of various traders’ associations led by Tamil Nadu ‘ Anaithu Vanigar Sangangalin Peramaippu’ has announced that its members and small retailers will stage a protest / gherao at Vijay Sethupathi’s office at Alwar Thirunagar in Chennai on November 5th 2019 morning.

Mr.Arunachala Murthy, federation’s Chennai mandal president, said today that they tried to contact actor Vijay Sethupathi and went to his office to meet him.
“There was no proper response from his office staff….We asked for his phone number to talk to him about our problems but the number was not given. The actor should announce in public that he will withdraw from ‘Mandee’ advertisement in the interest of small traders, retailers and vendors whose livelihood is at stake because of online purchases,” Mr.Arunachala Murthy said over phone.
The federation will stage protest at Vijay Sethupathi’s Chennai office with more than 300 members on November 5th 2019.
