MADURAI: Small traders. vendors and retailers have called for a massive protest in Chennai on November 5th against popular film actor Vijay Sethupathi for his commercial online ‘mandee’ advertisement.
The federation of various traders’ associations led by ‘Tamil Nadu Anaithu Vanigar Sangangalin Peramaippu – have decided to hold a gherao of Vijay Sethupathi’s office at Alwar Thirunagar in Chennai on 5th November – Tuesday – at 10.a.m.
APPEAL TO THE ACTOR:
Chennai mandal president of the traders’ federation Mr.Arunachala Moorthy, said today that actor Vijay Sethupathi should immediately withdraw from ‘Mandee’ advertisement in the interest of small vendors, small retailers and traders who are already suffering due to increasing effect of online commodity purchases.
“Vijay Sethupathi is a very nice person and a good actor. If he comes in this ‘mandee’ advertisement, it will affect the livelihood of thousands of small traders and vendors because his advertisement will influence large number of people. Already business has been hit for small retailers….So, we urge the actor to withdraw from that advertisement,” Mr.Arunachala Moorthy has said over phone from Chennai.
